YŌKAI was fine, but a little disappointing. I actually love this though, as its own little instrumental nu-metal/deathcore sideshow. Allowing the album's instrumentation to speak for itself without the distraction of the vocals and overt themes is a surprisingly fun listen.

I'd have to have the heart of stone not to give it an ear with such a disclaimer from the band. I'd have to have the heart of concrete not to get an album made with so much audible love. Deathcore, well... rather a terrific rifftastic blend of genres and styles (and haunted corish vocals with growls) that even lets itself go ambienty at moments without losing on deathness, awesome! Guess I'll love it. Lucid songs eat the world. In both versions.
